on october 13, 2015 my husband of 10 years passed away. we have 3 children ages 4 and 5. my twins who are 4 are disabled. they have hydrocephalus, severe developmental delays and mild cerebral palsy. the kids and i are alone out in suffolk county and we are broke. my husband had no pension or life insurance. i was able to go back to work for a short period of time but lost my job because i didn't have child care and my husband was unable to care for them. the children and i are on food stamps and we have medicaid. social security as well as a lawyer told me that i am not eligible for any type of widow's benefits as i'm only 38. i have applied for ssd for the twins and am waiting to hear if they are approved. additionally, i am waiting for an appointment with social security to see if the children are entitled to any of their father's social security benefits. i applied for PA with social services and am not sure they will approve me. i have no way of paying for any of my bills right now until i get child care and figure out this mess. my biggest worry is losing my car. my son is wheel chair bound and without my car i can't take him to his doctor's appointments let alone there are no sidewalks for me to take my children on where i live to take the bus if my car gets reposed. the house we live in is not mine and is going to be sold in the near future. i have no where else to live with my children. i hate to ask but i am hoping anyone would donate just $1 as any little bit would help the kids and i get by until things get straightened out. i humbly thank anyone who can help.
