Please help, medicare will not help me as much as I need.
Hi, my name is Karen. Last October, I was diagnosed with Stage 1 lung cancer. The doctors told me it was caught early and that five radiation treatments would take care of it.
But instead of healing, the radiation caused devastating damage. A CT scan showed that both of my lungs were badly burned, leaving me with pulmonary fibrosis and chronic lung disease. I went from needing just 2 liters of oxygen to now relying on 5 liters daily—and my doctors tell me I will eventually need a lung transplant.
On top of my lung condition, the steroids I was prescribed caused Cushing’s disease and affected my vision. I now need special glasses (about $700) and a stronger portable oxygen pack that can handle 7 liters (about $3,500). My doctors also put me on weight loss medication to counter the effects of the steroids.
Between hospital stays, specialists, treatments, equipment, and prescriptions, the bills keep piling up. That’s why I’m asking for your support. My goal is to raise $15,000 to cover these medical expenses and give me a chance to keep fighting for my health.
Every dollar helps—whether it’s $5, $50, or $500. Your generosity will help me breathe easier, stay mobile, and continue receiving the care I need.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your kindness and support.
