Viral Filter Respirators for Healthcare Workers

This money will go towards supplies for reusable respirator masks that we are making for doctors at the front-line fighting the COVID-19 crisis.
Our mom, Dr. Deepa Macha, is an Emergency Room physician who has decided to work at the front line in New York during the COVID-19 crisis. There is a vast shortage of PPE (personal protective equipment) available, so our mom reached out to doctors in Boston who have figured out how to make PPE for doctors at home. My siblings and I have learned how to assemble these N100 Viral Filter Elastomer Respirators, and are purchasing the supplies from a medical supplier. We have assembled over 500 masks this past week and dropped them off at hospitals in Detroit and Flint for medical personnel including nurses, medical assistants, and doctors who currently don’t have access to adequate PPE. We have also distributed masks to hospitals in Ann Arbor and sent some to resident doctors in New Jersey and New York.
Any additional funds that we raise will immediately go back into additional protective equipment for the underserved communities that are going to be on the rise in the coming weeks. Thank you in advance.
