Jack's battle with Cancer

The patriarch and foundation for us here in the Dominican Republic and my closest mentor and friend was diagnosed with cancer a few weeks back. Jack, my dad, has been the greatest example of what a godly man is supposed to be. He has shown me through success and failure how to maintain a genuine focus on Jesus. He works nonstop to keep the ministry (FIGHT Ministries) going stateside, making sure accounting and communication is an easy flow for us.

So when mom called and said he had cancer I was numb. I didn't know what to think, pray or say. For two weeks I sought God. "God do I pray for healing? Do i pray for comfort? What?" Overtime I asked and He reminded me how He told me in the waiting room for Ethan's ear He promised that he was already healed... see this blog for more on that story http://www.lukeandnaomi.com/2014/08/gods-words-are-always-fulfilled.html  So I have my answer. We got to spend some time with mom and dad and John in the Dominican Republic a week and a half ago. It was so nice to have us all together. We got to send them off with a healing prayer the last day we all believe it. God will Heal dad!!

So today he went in for a feeding tube and a scope of the tumor in his esophagus. We all hoped and prayed this was when God would do it. Dad hasn't been able to swallow water for a while let alone food. I just got the word that the tumor has grown and we need to hurry up and get to the radiation and chemo. Mom said that God just wants this to be a longer journey... We still believe. :)
