Krissy's Chance to Beat Cancer
Donation protected
This is my loving sister and best friend, Kristen Guiles. She is shown in the picture affectionately sandwiched between her adorable two young sons, George (9) and Gabriel (6). She is an extremely warm hearted person who has always given and sacrificed herself for others. In 2013, Krissy was diagnosed with Stage 4 Breast Cancer that had metastasized to her Liver.
As you can imagine when faced with this devastating news, her whole life had been turned upside down. Her first thoughts turned toward her children...she had to stay alive for them. So with the advice of her Oncologist, she attacked it quickly and aggressively. She hit the cancer with chemo to minimize the size of the tumors in order to prepare for surgery. She had her breasts removed, one lymph node, and 30% of her liver which was then followed by two more rounds of chemo. She was still healing from the side effects associated with the treatment…like loss of feeling in her hands and feet, layers of peeling skin, a cyst on her liver, and a crashed immune system…when she had found out that the Cancer was still in her Liver and now moved into her Spine and Brain. After 9 of 12 more rounds of chemo, Krissy had to stop her treatment because her neuropathy had gotten so bad that she had to use a walker. Time for a different path and a new hope!
We are trying to raise funds in order to send Krissy to an integrative facility where she can be treated effectively without the extreme harsh side effects. Since the cancer has reached her brain, we need to go as soon as possible. These life saving alternative treatments are expensive and are not covered by insurance.
Any donation to help save my sister would be forever appreciated. The thought of losing another one of my sisters is overwhelming. I can’t imagine how this is affecting her children, our mother and father who have already lost 1 daughter and 2 nephews, our brother who lost his 4 year old son to spinal tumor cancer, her husband who lost his mother to lung cancer when he was a teenager, and family and friends who love her and who she has positively impacted throughout the years.
Thank You in advance for your help!
