Nine months ago, I started the East is a Podcast as a "sargharmee", something to keep me occupied as I lingered for yet another year on the academic job market. An avid listener of podcasts for several years, I had grown frustrated by the overly white, overly American and overly monolingual nature of podcast discourse.
The East is a Podcast is my attempt to help expand the horizon of media representation. I don't need to tell you this but it's not career-friendly to talk about Israeli apartheid, American imperialism, or the racism of the academy.
Help my work by giving anything you can towards this campaign. This fundraiser is different than my Patreon, which is more or less my income--you are welcome to donate to me there as well :) I want to buy better equipment, hire an editor to go through the back catalog, and provide honorariums to people who volunteer their time to read for me.
I've been lucky enough to be able to do this job for free until now, but that time is rapidly coming to an end. I want to keep this going; help me.
