Medical expenses for double Lung Transplant

Hi, my name is Kelly and I’m fundraising for my brother in law Jack Girard. Jack retired after working as a Correctional officer for 25 years. He also has been a volunteer fireman for 28 years at East Seneca fire company.

Jack has been diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis. Pulmonary fibrosis is a terminal illness , there is no cure. Jack has been on a medication that possibly could slow down progression but unfortunately has not worked for him. The progression of the disease is rapidly worsening. Since there is no cure the only option for survival is a double lung transplant. At Jack's last visit at Cleveland clinic they have decided to move forward and put him on the list for a double lung transplant. He is expected to be in Cleveland for at least 2 months in addition to multiple follow up visits to monitor him. Kim will also be staying in Cleveland with him. To offset some financial burden they may endure we are putting this GoFundMe together for them. This will help with lodging and multiple medications he will be on for an extended period of time after his transplant.
