Kent Harlan - Coming Alive!
Good day friends! I am writing this on behalf of my wonderful talented husband Kent Harlan. Of course I think he is amazing, but once you hear his music, maybe you will agree! Kent is too humble to ask for money, however some of you may or may not know that last year I did my own fundraising campaign and am now able to walk because of the generous people who helped me out. I know more than anybody the power of crowdfunding and how life changing small donations from a large number of people can be. Now it is Kent’s turn! This isn’t to help him walk, but to help him SOAR and to be able to continue on with his lifelong passion of writing and performing music.
Kent has been playing music since he was a young boy, writing and recording songs that he has played to audiences across North America, alongside great artists like Blue Rodeo and Ron Sexsmith. As you all know, the music industry is tough, probably one of the toughest in the world, and that struggle has affected him in the past. For years he sadly put his music to the side feeling discouraged. All was not lost, it was during that time that he came to realize that writing and playing music is part of his soul and without it there is something missing. About 6 months ago, Kent picked up his guitar and played it for four days straight. In the 11 years I have known him this has only happened twice and this was the second time. I knew not to bother him, it was like watching a painter create a beautiful canvas, I watched the birth of these new songs come to life with lyrics being scribbled down on pieces of paper all around the house, and it felt so amazing! Songs with a powerful message and great melodies that just have to be recorded in a professional studio.
Here is a sneek peek demo ofone of his new creations. Please keep in mind, it is just a demo, something to share with the producer to get him ready for the recording. No extra instruments, you have to imagine the song recorded with extra melodies behind them.

Here are a few examples of songs that Kent has recorded with Jonathan Anderson in the past. Jonathan is a very talented music producer with a great studio in Vancouver BC that Kent had the pleasure of working with in the past and will be recording (well hopefully) with him in the fall. Although his new songs will have a bit of a different vibe to them, it will give you the idea of the tha magic that an amazing producer can make when blended with a talented musician!
