Help Samantha Beat A Rare Form of Sarcoma Cancer!

We created this account to help our friend Samantha Hernandez (30) who is fighting a rare form of stage 4  Sarcoma cancer where we supposedly thought it was just ovarian cancer. We are updating her gofundme, because what was once ovarian cancer turned out to be something even more complicated for ever doctors to understand. After a year and a half of fighting and getting treatments, Drs. finally gave us a better understanding of what is going on. We have found that Sammy has a rare type of sarcoma cancer in the abdomen. Sarcoma usually begins in the pelvis region and then spreads to the abdomen, but in Sammy's case it began in the abdomen and spread to one of her ovaries. With all her chemo treatments, her ovaries began to heal and showed that she may only need to remove one of her ovaries instead of a total hysterectomy. Her medical team discussed with Sammy and her family about two options for surgery but will have to wait for another MRI and biopsy. They want to confirm 100% that it is this rare sarcoma cancer and will be sending out her results to the City of Hope Sarcoma Cancer Board. She has two options for hospital treatments that would be taking over. One is in Arizona, while the other is in New York. No matter which facility takes Sammy's case she would have to go to them and not knowing for how long she would be gone for. She would have to get all new testing done before any type of surgery can happen.

Sammy is an amazing single mother to her daughter Kaira (10). She has a huge family support system at home on days she is at her weakest during chemo treatments. During her time at home she has been focusing on her daughter and her schooling, Sammy decided to start her own aromatherapy business to keep her busy and at float. She has not gotten any disability from the state ever since she came home from the hospital back in July 2019. It's been a hard process to go through. So, by creating this Gofundme we hope we can help her out during this difficult time in her life.
