A Mother in Need

Hi, my name is Estela Estifanos and I am a loving mother of 4. In the course of this last year I have been meet with an abundance of not only medical but mental health issues. Beginning back in May of 2023 I was rushed to the hospital for which we later found out was a GI bleed. After 24 hrs of being admitted I was then rushed to Christiana hospital with life threatening issues. First two weeks I ended up in a coma, and after was placed on a medically induced Coma that lasted another 2 weeks. Majority of my initial hospital stay I have no memory of, so I do not have specific details to share. After medically being released after 3 months in the hospital I was then send to a skilled nursing facility to learn how to walk, bath and essentially learn all my ADLs all over again. In this time away from my family and children I started to suffer from sever depression and anxiety. Once I completed my two month stay with skilled nursing I was released back to my home, where my mom is working as my caregiver. To make a long story short I’ve been diagnosed with stage 4 Liver disease along with sever anemia, Gastro Paralysis and number of other health concerns. I am here today asking for any help and or resource to help me get back on my feet. I’ve been unofficially deemed disabled but I do not meet criteria to receive any special benefits at the moment. I have 4 beautiful Childern ages ranging from 2-12. If you can find it in your hearts to help I can guarantee you would be making a world of a difference not only for me but for my children who deserve to have a healthy and functional mother. I appreciate all that have read my story and I pray this finds everyone in good health.
