Hey my name is Devin Draper and am one of Bobby's closest friends.
Bobby was recently diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer and has had an operation to remove the infected area. While slowly recovering from the procedure he has received news that the cancer has spread into his Lymph-nodes and possibly his lungs. He awaits further surgeries and treatment.
Friends, family and anybody touched by Bobby, we want to thank for all the love and support given over these past months. As the road is a long and difficult one, I think we need to pull together as a family and group that shows love for a family such as this.
Please donate anything you can and we can help this family navigate these trying times ahead!
Here is a post from Bobby from Feb 27th-2021
Hi everyone, I haven’t posted anything for while. Recovery from my throat surgery has been a bit difficult. But I’ve been making progress. I got to spend today with one of my brothers Devin Draper, thanks for all your support man, I really depend on you a lot man, and I appreciate your love!
I also got to talk on the phone tonight with a very close friend, someone I have always looked to for help and guidance, he been a mentor to me growing up. I’ve been so blessed to have learned so much from Tom Smith, I ask of everyone to pray for him as he battles with pancreatic cancer. Tom and I have plans to work together this year on some projects, and he’s going to make it through this. I love you Tom please keep fighting!
Now, I got some pretty upsetting news yesterday, I was told they have found another type of cancer, metastatic carcinoma that has spread into my lymph nodes, and into my lungs. They aren’t sure if it’s gone as far as into my bones. So I’ll be going to the University Hospital in Saskatoon this week for a PET scan. This will give them a clear idea of how bad this has spread. Now I know this isn’t great news and some of you will do some reading on this type of cancer, and find out it doesn’t look good. Let me just say, I’m not in anyway convince that this is going to take me down in anyway. I have been through so much hurt in my life, and I’ve spent most of my life caring for people, trying to help out in anyway possible, getting to work on the ambulance and the fire department at very young age saving lives. I’ve been in some many serious and tragic experiences. You never forget those bad experiences, but also never forget all good ones. I’ve been in so many situations when you are face with such problem you feel like it’s over! But I always say, there’s a solution to every problem, and if you work hard enough and give everything you got at trying to make a difference, you will always over come this. I can’t thank my wife enough Bridgette Skibinski for being by my side through this, and I made a promised to my two girls yesterday I’ll beat this! This is just the next challenge in life I have to over come. Like I said before, I’m always up for a challenge. At the end of the day challenges are what makes life interesting, overcoming them is what makes life Meaningful!
Thank you everyone for your love and support.
