WE CAN DO IT: Smashing Cancer Together
Donation protected
Hello, Friends of Maggie! My name is Jen, and I am here to help Maggie raise funds while she is recovering from surgery.
If you know Maggie, you would know she is strong, resourceful, caring, and kind. She loves dogs (especially Oscar). She holds her loved ones close and would drop everything to be there for them. She has honor, a strong moral compass, and stays true to her values. She is a talented body worker, helping others manage stress and pain. She is a good friend, a fantastic momma, a talented artist, and loved by so many.
But you might not know Maggie needs our help.
After breast cancer was found on a routine mammogram this fall, Maggie needs to undergo a double mastectomy. Doctors are hopeful the cancer was found early, but official staging can't happen until after the surgery and lymph node biopsy results tell us more.
If surgery is successful in removing all the cancer, Maggie will be able to return to work after a three-month healing process. If cancer is found in nearby lymph nodes, she will have to begin radiation and chemotherapy treatments. This will delay her return to work for some time.
Unfortunately, this is the third breast cancer diagnosis Maggie has received. Her last diagnosis was twelve years ago, and after responding to treatment, she has been cancer-free until this fall.
Maggie is also self-employed—this means time off work is unpaid. Her recovery will cost in months of lost wages and financial hardship. My hope is that while Maggie is healing, we can all chip in and help alleviate the financial burden that comes with a cancer diagnosis so she can focus on healing. No donation is too small; every little bit helps!
