Medical expenses

Well, 1 year has come and gone. Still fighting for his life. Currently in ICU in Lafayette. I'm traveling back and forth between our home in Pineville to Lafayette, either to the hospital or his current home at a nursing home. Please, during this season of giving, anything helps.

"This is Tim Roper
He is my art professor at LCU.

What was suppose to be a simple surgery has turned into a year of heartache, hospitals, ICU visits; setbacks, and nursing homes.

I want you to know that he has students. Students who he has helped in more ways than what is required for a professor. He's starred in tiktoks for us, he's helped students with their car problems, he's given pep-talks, he's given love, he's given endless compassion.

Tim loves music. Tim hates pink. Tim has some pretty good dad-jokes that you can't help but laugh at because of how stupid they are. Tim teaches art. He has inspired many individuals and he is always, and I mean always willing to lend a helping hand.

This man drove up to the college from his house so that he could sign a form so that I could drop a class on the last day of the add/drop day one semester while I was in literal tears about not being ready to take a ceramic art class. He helped me figure out a game plan so that two semesters later, I am now about to take the final for the class I had so much anxiety about taking. He has always pushed students/young adults to strive for our best, even if we don't see the point. He gives advice to his young college kids and even to some of his graduates. Whether that advice is about life, God, friendship, words of wisdom, it doesn't matter, he gives it.

Even now he gives advice, even if he doesn't realize it. He has a bunch of family, friends, colleagues, and students who are constantly trying to keep updates on him and do what they can to help him and his family. Those updates tell me that he is resilient, strong-willed, hopeful, humble, loving and worshipful.

He's scared, I know it, but right now he's showing me that if he has the strength and ability to go through obstacle after obstacle, hospital after hospital, ICU after ICU, then that means that I can overcome obstacles too.

He's showing that there can be hope even when everything is going wrong, and nothing seems to get better. He's showing that yeah, life may suck, but you gotta keep fighting, he's showing that even the most devote, can still suffer, but that it is important to never give up on God, and to appreciate the ones that love you and stand by you.

Tim Roper, is a father, a husband, a friend, a colleague, and a professor. He has given so much, so I ask of you to donate if you can, say a prayer if you can, check on his relatives if you can. it's not just Tim who suffers the longer he stays sick, it's all of us who love him and miss him and wants him to come home.

And if you can't help him or his family, then help someone else. No matter if it's just helping with dishes, or helping with babysitting kids. Because Tim, Tim is a "helper", he is a "giver". So even if you can't do anything to help him, you still have the ability to help someone else in an infintite amount of ways, so if you can help someone, help them."
