Natalie's Recovery Journey

Natalie is a 17 year old Junior at Pearl High School who has experienced a life-altering car accident on April 25th, 2023. Many people have asked multiple times how they can help the family in this very rough situation. So, this fundraiser was created.

On April 25th Natalie was involved in single vehicle car crash and had to be airlifted to UMMC in Jackson, MS. She was found unresponsive with a very light pulse at the scene of the accident and had to be intubated immediately. Once she arrived at the hospital, we were informed that she has a severe traumatic brain injury and bleeding on the brain. Along with a broken jaw in two places, a pretty bad laceration on her head, and her left arm was broken in multiple places with bones protruding the skin at her elbow. She was on a ventilator for 14 days and thankfully is now breathing on her own, but had to have a tracheostomy done. She had to have a drain tube and ICP monitor put in her head to relieve and monitor the pressure in her head. That was removed on day 16. Nat is currently in a vegetative state and can respond to just a few commands. She will be transferring from the SICU to a Neurological Rehabilitation center soon to help get her to a more conscious state. It is VERY slow progress right now. Hopefully it will not be needed after rehab, but we are considering hyperbaric oxygen therapy if she does not make good progress at the rehab or if progress comes to a hault.

This fundraiser is being put together to help the family with co-pay's, deductibles, and other medical costs, as insurance does not cover everything. Her parents have also driven 30 minutes one-way at least 4 times per day for the last 21 days and soon it will be a 40 minute drive one-way for an indefinite period. Not to mention the costs of eating out due to basically living at the hospital. Any donation is greatly appreciated, but more than anything Natalie NEEDS prayers. Please pray for a fast and full recovery. This bump in the road has turned into a journey but we know God is along for the ride.
