Update:
Michelle left her earthly broken body early this morning, March 28, 2023. She was surrounded by her wife Elaine and children. She fought a long, hard fight. The last few weeks in hospice care in their home allowed Elaine the ability to reduce her caregiver role enough to prepare for this day.

On February 27, Michelle wrote on Facebook in response to this GoFundMe the following:

"I would like to reach out and say thank you for all the love and support. I am hanging in there with God's grace. Hopefully this set back will be short lived and the last. I look forward to getting up and visiting with you all. Thank you All again for generosity and love."

Michelle was participating in conversations Sunday, March 19. She had her son, Jarod and the grand-baby visiting this Saturday. And Sunday, March 26, she was not waking. Brain cancer (from lung cancer) has a way of doing that. The hospice care nurse had prepared Michelle and Elaine for this.

The beauty of this family is in the love they have for one another. Elaine's now adult children loved Michelle and treated her as if they had known her their entire lives. Over the last few weeks, Elaine and Michelle have been surrounded by family and friends.

The tributes on Facebook are beautiful. Michelle left this earth having made a positive impact on the lives of others. She will be missed.

Original:
My dearest friend Elaine married for the 3rd time in September 2020 to Michelle. The happiness was short-lived when Michelle was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in November 2021. She went through chemo and was progressing forward with her life. Michelle was looking to go back to work, there would be a second income again, but they never made it that far.

In the fall of 2022, Michelle started having trouble with her left side and being mobile. Surgery for brain cancer was in November 2022. Hospice care was started in February 2023.

The medical expenses are significant with high co-insurances, the savings are all gone. Additional medical supplies are not covered by insurance for Michelle's comfort during this time. Elaine has been working as many hours as she can while being the primary care giver to Michelle.

I was asked to put this together by Elaine and I agreed because I know crowd source funding can be very helpful to those who need a little assistance. If there are 400 friends who can donate $1 each, that is $400. If 400 friends, donate $2 each, that is $800 which will cover final expenses as Michelle expressed she wanted. If 400 friends each donated $5, that is $2000. It all adds up.
