UPDATE:
I wanted to add an update to everyone who has donated and those who have shared. Zoey has completed one round of five of chemo. She has handled itnVERY well, and we know now that she is NOT an MDR1. This is GREAT news in that she will tolerate chemo better, go into remission sooner, and, hopefully stay in remission longer. She has continued to keep her loving ways and attitude. Her oncology team is taking wonderful care of her, and they think she’s the GREATEST. Thank you sooo much to everyone who has shared and donated. Please keep sharing. Every bit helps. She has four more rounds of chemo to go. I’m very much hoping that she’s able to stay as healthy throughout as she is now.
My name is Trish. Anyone who knows me, knows Zoey. She is my best friend, my devoted companion and she is my Service Dog. She has been trained to alert of if I go down from anaphylaxis. She goes EVERYWHERE with me, and she is a delight to EVERYONE she meets. She makes everyone’s day, and because of this, I wanted to share her, and she was tested and passed her Therapy Dog certification. We were all set to spread that delight and love around by visiting nursing homes and hospitals. Unfortunately after an unexpected vet visit last Friday, we found out that she has Stage 3 lymphoma. After further testing today with a veterinary oncologist, it’s been found that she is a good candidate for chemotherapy, which could buy her two to three more years. Without the chemotherapy, we’re looking at 1-6 months, hardly enough time to spread that delight and joy. As you can imagine, chemo is very expansive. I’m disabled and can only do so much. Please help me help Zoey, so that she can continue to spread her loveliness. Every bit will help. We would like to start treatment next week, if possible. The sooner, the better. The total we have to raise is $7100
