On August 28th, 2016, Kirk went to the ER with a rash, abdominal and joint pain. After a series of tests he was diagnosed with an auto-immune disease called HSP. This disease attacked his entire GI system and eventually his kidneys. He spent 42 days in the hospital. Unfortunately, his kidneys have not recovered and now has stage 4 kidney failure. He undergoes dialysis three times a week and at this time it is undetermined when/if he will be able to return to work. All proceeds will go towards unpaid living expenses and extensive medical bills that have incurred thus far. His family and friends are grateful for all contributions made.
