Hey guys! I have some big news! God is doing big things! The door has been opened for me to go to Oxford New Zealand and Attend YWAM. In the last year God has been teaching me many things, and one of the hardest has been learning to trust Him with everything. It’s hard to relinquish control of life. There are so many things that I have or want that are hard to let go of. But what he taught me is that it is so much better when you can part with control, and let his guidance lead.
Throughout my life I have had a passion for the outdoors. The beauty of it all drew me in. I could see God’s finger all over it and it made me worship him. I just could not get enough. About a year ago I felt God kindle a desire to do YWAM, but I was afraid of committing. It was hard to leave what was comfortable. I thank God for this year that I have been able to grow to trust him more. As the last year progressed, he continually placed seeds in me that grew and blossomed into passion for doing what he says and following where he leads.
I realized that God has placed the passions of my heart in me for a reason. They were all purposed to bring glory to God. The more I listen to what he says about me, the more I find who I am and what my calling is. I realized my passion for the outdoors was meant to be grouped with my passion for people. There is a world full of people that love the outdoors but miss the love for them that the Creator of the outdoors has for them. YWAM Oxford’s Climbing DTS is all about this, and it seems the perfect gateway to refine this focus.
Youth with A Mission (YWAM) Oxford is a well-developed base with several Discipleship Training Schools (DTS) within it. The one that I am going to is the Climbers DTS. The goal is to reach the often-unreached people group of climbers, backpackers, and outdoors enthusiasts also to create connections between likeminded people to grow God’s family. The beautiful part is that we will all have at least one thing in common, giving us a common platform to leap off in our pursuits of sharing the love of Christ. This is what I feel God has called me to. I want to reach these people anywhere and at any time throughout my life.
As followers of Christ we are called to tell the world of what he has done for them. God has opened this door for me to walk this out. He also has opened this door for you to send out. I encourage you to please pray for the hearts of the people that I will encounter, and that God continues to work and grow me through this process. Be apart of this journey. You can change the atmosphere of the places that we go, our team will need your prayers. For this month, pray for the team’s hearts to be prepared, and for zeal to consume our hearts for Jesus.
You can also join the journey by supporting financially. Before you do this, Please Please Please pray about it! If God has not put in on your heart to give money, then don’t. Listen to what he is saying. If you feel lead, then please do! Before going, I will need to raise about $3250 and another $4000 for the mission. I also will need to raise around $1200 for the plane ticket. I am confident that God will help us raise this!
