Hi everyone, thank you for taking the time to read this. This is a close friend of mine’s story who is choosing to be anonymous due to fear of judgment and embarrassment for being in this situation for the first time in her life. I set up this go fund me due to her desperately needing immediate financial assistance. If anyone has any questions, please reach out to me personally and I can contact her for you.
Thank you,
Rachel

I am truly speechless how much everyone has contributed to this. Thank you or telling you how grateful I am does not feel like enough to cover how much I appreciate this help. I am truly beyond words grateful. We are upping the goal to $16,000 to cover rent for January (after speaking with property manager yesterday, I owe just over 15k including January’s rent).
I’ve made some connections on LinkedIn very recently and hope to have my resume sent and phone calls set up soon for my job search.
I really cannot wait to be working full-time again and I am very much hoping a job happens ASAP! I also appreciate everyone who has reached out with job leads. I'm following up on them as quickly as I can.
Thank you again for all of your help and support. I will be paying it forward in 2025.

I am continuing to work with my city resources (I am currently receiving Medicaid and food assistance) as well as local churches for help. Unfortunately, rent is still the most difficult to catch up on. However, I am thankful I can cover my bills and other necessities for my child. I would be beyond grateful for any financial assistance anyone is willing and able to provide.
I am honestly in need of a Christmas miracle at this point. I’m hopeful to have this resolved ASAP because I have between 14 and 30 days before I will be evicted if the city is unable to help. As of right now the city has NOT confirmed they can/will help. I’m literally praying nightly that somehow this works out in my favor.
I am hoping to move into another complex with much more affordable rent and one near me has a unit currently available I’m hoping to move into as soon as possible when I can meet the income requirements. I am truly hopeful that 2025 will be a fresh start for both me and my daughter and 2024 can be a year of lessons learned and pay it forward because of those lessons learned.

2024 has been a very challenging year for me as a single mom. I lost my job, and once I exhausted my savings, I fell behind on my rent in August. Unfortunately, my landlord chose to pursue eviction, and I am doing my best to pay the rest of my bills and provide stability for my child. I have been doing my best to find a new job and hope to find one soon (it's my only wish for Christmas). Unfortunately, at the end of October, I was in a car accident (rear-ending), which caused a back injury and damage to my car. This has made driving and potential alternative forms of income (DoorDash, Instacart, Uber, etc.) more difficult as I go through physical therapy and car repairs.
