As our family gathered to celebrate Thanksgiving this fall, we never expected to pull on the wishbone over such earth-shattering news.

During dinner, Kristy was suffering from horrible vertigo and nausea. This had already been going on for two weeks, but when it progressed to the loss of motor function on one side of her body and vision disturbances it was time to head to the ER for further investigation. After further testing and worsening symptoms, they found a chest mass along with several lesions on her brain. Cancer. The word that no one wants to hear, especially at 47 years young.

With one brain surgery down to remove the largest and most impactful tumor, her oncology team continues to develop the best plan to tackle this. So far, she has started radiation, which will continue for the next several weeks. Kristy wishes to take holistic approaches as well, although this is not covered by insurance which may come with the price tag of thousands.

We are reaching out as a family with the hopes of helping Kristy show cancer that it has messed with the wrong person. We are raising funds to help pay for the cost of treatments, travel expenses and monthly bills.
