Help Mariam Graduate❤️

Hi, my name is Shirmai, and I am a graduating senior at Wesleyan University. I am asking for support on behalf of my housemate and close friend: Mariam Adabi.

 

Mariam is a Connecticut native, an FGLI (first-gen, low-income) student, and a transfer student from a community college to Wesleyan, having worked very hard to get to where she is today. I am constantly in awe of her strength, generosity, and kindness to everyone around her. If you know Mariam, you know that I am not exaggerating when I say that Mariam is one of the kindest, most generous, and sweetest people at Wesleyan.

 

Mariam has been financially independent since her father passed away, and her mother had left the United States to return to Togo. Unfortunately, due to personal circumstances, Mariam had to take a semester off during COVID, resulting in her not being able to graduate with all of us (expected graduation now in fall of 2022).

This is where we need your help. Mariam suffered from a car crash a couple of months ago and has been exhausting her earnings to repair her car. In addition, since she works as an UberEats driver, she's now lost a source of income. Wesleyan is putting a financial hold that is stopping her from participating in course pre-registration and housing selection. So, we need any form of financial support we can get for Mariam. ❤️ All the money raised here will go towards her tuition for fall 2022 and any outstanding payments with insurance, car maintenance, etc. Mariam is very selfless, and we would not be here asking for your help if she's not in dire need of your support.
