Help Us Give Thomas a Fighting Chance Against LGMD2A/R1

Dear Family, Friends and Kind Strangers. 

Today, I write to you with a heavy heart, seeking your compassion, support, and help for my son, Thomas.

At the tender age of 15, Thomas was diagnosed with LGMD2A/R1, a rare and debilitating form of muscular dystrophy. This devastating condition has slowly started to impact his ability to lead a normal life. With each passing day, we witness him facing challenges that most of us take for granted.

As you may know, LGMD2A/R1 has no cure, and the journey ahead is daunting. However, amidst the heartbreak, we find hope in the tireless efforts of dedicated doctors, scientists, and families who are working relentlessly towards finding a cure. Every day, they bring us a glimmer of hope, and we hold onto the belief that a breakthrough is on the horizon.

Recently, a dear friend brought to our attention a medical trial that holds promise for Thomas. This trial, while not covered by insurance, could be a lifeline for our son. We are reaching out to our community, friends, and family to raise funds for Thomas's participation in this trial, with a goal of approximately $25,000.

Thomas's future hangs in the balance, and as his parents, our deepest desire is to provide him with the chance to live as normal a life as possible. Over time, LGMD2A/R1 may rob him of the ability to run, walk, and partake in the simple activities that bring joy to his life.
