Ashley's College Tuition Fundraiser

My name is Ashley Holly, I am currently an undergrad student at San Francisco State University. I've been pursuing my college education for 8 years, starting at a community college slowly working towards my goal to receive a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies. When I started at San Francisco State University I had to work two jobs, one full time and one part-time as well as go to school full time. I recently had to take a semester off and work two full-time jobs just to continue to pay for my financial obligations. It has been extremely difficult for me to meet those financial obligations as I am a financially independent first-generation student who simply can not ask my family for help because they don’t have the resources to help me. It started in August 2019 when I was denied financial aid for the 2019-2020 school year. It was devastating for me because previous to this academic year, I was depending on financial aid grants to finance my tuition, supplies, and room & board. I had talked to several people at the San Francisco State Financial Aid Office but the only advice I received was taking private loans. Loans aren’t an option for me because these particular loans require a co-signer that I don’t have. During that Fall of 2019, I was charged $4,000 and if I don’t pay the University they will revoke my admission and I will no longer be a student. I’m asking for a total of $6,000 broken down it is $4,000 to help pay for my debt and an extra $2,000 to continue my studies and finally receive my Bachelor’s degree. It’s has been a very long journey and I’ve worked so hard to give up now so this is my last resort. I am too proud to ask for money, but I have no choice but to ask as my education is too important for me to let go and give up now. Please help in any way you can. Thank you so much.
