A day in the life of a Workhuman
In January, I tried my best to help someone out on a project
They sent me lovely feedback and an award
My kids were asking would I join them on a run, I agreed with some hesitation
I went to the WH store and redeemed an Elverys electronic gift card
I went to Elverys and got advice on a pair of runners, I bought the runners (at a discount!!)
I applied to run the Dublin City half marathon for Focus Ireland (Helping the homeless (having only ever run 10Km years before!) with my 2 sons (Jake & Ryan)
I went to the WH gym and got advice on how to prepare, train, eat, sleep, stretch
FITVISION LOGO
I started with 5K building up over the 3 months running the same route and finding it tough and really boring (if you can feel both these feelings together!)
SQUIGLY LINE
I got advice from Lauren in WH who was inspiring on how to prepare mentally for the run (one step at a time) Lauren also helped change my route
With 2 weeks to go, I wont say I’m looking forward to the run but knowing its for a good cause and its with family, there are more positives than negatives.
JAKE & RYAN
So Im telling the story because it took 6 people to show me how and why its worth doing something you’ve never done before.
And it all started in Workhuman, so Thank you other workhumans for what you do – it makes a real difference.
Hopefully, I’ll be able to get to the finish line and if you would like to help the charity, please do pledge a couple of euro
