Hi I’m doing this fundraiser for my child Cody. Cody is trans, people ask me when I tell them, “you’re ok with that?” Or “how do you feel about it”

The short answer is yes of course I’m ok with that. And what I feel is love l, unconditional love.

The longer answer is when you see your child be depressed and it seems like there is nothing you can really do about it to make them better it breaks your heart. You do what you can get them therapy and meds to try to help. Then one day your child realizes they aren’t happy because of who they are, they aren’t being who they really are. For years it eats away at you little by little even if you don’t know why until you reach the breaking point. And finally with the realization that they are in fact male things change. Gradually the depression fades, the meds aren’t needed, and you see your child be happy again. Happy with who they truly are. So yes I am ok with it. I love Cody with all my heart.

The next step for him is gender-affirming surgery. Cody got approved for government funding for it but it doesn’t cover all costs of the surgery. There is still a $7000.00 portion of the surgery that isn’t covered that we are responsible for. If I had the money I’d pay for it without batting an eye. Unfortunately I have my own challenges and can’t afford this so we thought we should try this.
