In December, 2015, Donald Rittenhouse was rushed to the hospital by Sherry, his wife of 15 years, after experiencing chest pains and weakness. After staying in the ICU for a week, Don was diagnosed with having atrial fibrillation which is a serious heart condition. Don spent two weeks in the hospital.

After being released Don was sent home with expensive heart monitoring equipment and strict guidelines from his doctor.

At this time Don has out-of-pocket medical bills in excess of $6,000 and more bills are still coming in. Don missed extended time from work and his wife Sherry also had to miss work on multiple occasions. With the strong support of his family, friends, and coworkers, Don has been able to lose 85 pounds which will go a long way towards improving Don's overall health. Even with this drastic improvement, there is still a risk that Don will require additional medical procedures in the future meaning additional medical bills and more time missed from work.
