UW Kappa Sigma Veterans Fundraiser
Donation protected
Each November around Thanksgiving time, the University of Washington Huskies and the Washington State University Cougars battle it out on the football field in what has become one of College Football’s greatest rivalries: the Apple Cup. The Kappa Sigma Fraternity for over 40 years, has run the Apple Cup game ball across Washington State to raise money and awareness for a variety of philanthropic causes. For 24 hours leading up to the game, Kappa Sigma Brothers from Beta-Psi Chapter at UW run the game ball almost 300 miles, in an event we call the Apple Cup Run. Created in 1978, the Run has most recently drawn awareness to the Kappa Sigma Military Heroes Campaign, a campaign committed to supporting ongoing care for our military veterans and their families. Since 2007, the Kappa Sigma Military Heroes Campaign has raised over $1,300,000 to assist several causes including the SEAL Legacy Foundation, Veterans Moving Forward, Homes For Our Troops, and more.
