My mother and father Rev Johnnie And Kathi Green have always been 2 people I can truly say put others first before themselves. After my dad beat Kidney failure, last year after receiving a transplant and my mom just recently beat breast cancer after surgery I never expected this COVID 19 to effect my family like this just days apart. My dad has been hospitalized since I took him in on April 24 and has been unconscious on a ventilator since that day. I took my mother the following day and she was hospitalized since April 26 and was just transferred to a rehab center over the weekend and on the road to recovery which won’t be easy. The hardest part is caring for my mentally disabled younger brother who is so sad he can’t see my parents and is having a hard time understanding accepting their illness because he relies on them for everything which is now all on my shoulders and not an easy task at all.
My father has always been superman to me as assistant pastor of Tabernacle Missionary Baptist church doing whatever was needed. Rather it was going to pray for someone having surgery at 4 am or visitation for funerals and prayer he never hesitated. My mother has always supported him by caring for the household as she cared for my younger brother who has numerous difficulties but she always found peace in her love for music as a violinist. It hurts my heart to see them go through this because it has changed them In so many ways and I pray they both can fully recover while I do my best to care for them as well as my brother.
The above was written by my nephew, Johnnie Green III. All funds donated will go to my oldest brother Johnnie and Kathy's medical bills. The funds will also assist in the care of Johnnie's brother, Josiah. Josiah currently lives in an Assisted Living Home for the disabled. He was scheduled to go home with his parents, prior to them coming down with COVID 19. Thank you for any donations and your kind hearts.
