My very good friend, Sarah Short, was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. You all may know Sarah as she is the friendly face behind Short’s Barber Shop in Trumansburg. She’s been cutting my husband’s and our boys’ hair (and countless other’s ) for many many years.

While planning and preparing for surgery, her MRI showed the cancer had already spread to her lymph nodes. As a result, she’s suddenly faced with surgery, AND chemotherapy, AND radiation.

Sarah is a self-employed barber and a single mother with two teenage daughters. She’s a fixture in our community and always the first one to be there to help others. Sarah’s body is going to require several weeks to months to recover from her cancer treatments. Being self-employed, she will have no source of income while she is healing.
