The clown that broke his crown
Donation protected
Hello friends,
It saddens us to have to make this announcement but we need your help.
On November 19th Jellyboy the clown aka Eric Broomfield was helping a friend clean gutters on a 2 story house when the ladder gave way and Jellyboy was thrown to the ground from a height of 20ft.
In the fall Jellyboy fractured both his heels resulting in the need for surgery and fractured two vertebrae in his spine. Luckily he still has full use of his body and no nerve damage, for that we are very thankful.
We all know Jellyboy is a fighter after he over came a near death experience in a house fire 7 years ago. With this new set of injuries Jellyboy is going to be in a wheelchair for the next two to four months and go through extensive physical therapy until he will be able to walk unassisted again.
Jelly's fellow Squidling brothers are doing all that we can but we need your help with medical bills and supplies as well as day to day living expenses ( rent, food, phone) and we all know how quickly those bills add up.
Many of you know Jellyboy and how he's been a constant influence and amazing human to many of us around the world but for those who don't know him here's a little about the Clown that broke his crown.
Eric Broomfield is a Philadelphia and New York City based performance artist and writer who travels the world as Jelly Boy The Clown. He is a founding member of The Squidling Brothers Circus Sideshow as well as an accomplished sword swallower, fire breather, front man, storyteller, and all around world class performer.
Since hitting the road in 2008, he has toured continuously coast to coast in the United States and overseas to Europe and Scandinavia, as well as parts of the Middle East and Asia.
As part of the Squidling Brothers, he has headlined the Coney Island Rockabilly Festival, performed at Theatre Bizarre (the largest Halloween party in North America), Lagunitas Brewing Company's Beer Circuses, and Sadistic Circus in Toyko, Japan. Over the years he has shared the stage with rock bands Primus and the Exploited; as well as traveled with the Swing Shift Sideshow out of Las Vegas and Pain Solution from Norway. He is also a member of the Coney Island sideshow cast as a clown of danger and science.
Jellyboy has been featured on television programs such as AMC's Freakshow Season 2 and the Science Channels Oddities San Francisco. He has also appeared on the national news in Holland for the world famous Hanky Panky Tattoo Museum and on various local news programs all around the world."
Jellyboy has done so much for so many over the years, let's help a clown out.
Love,
The Squidling Family
