Hi friends, if you're seeing this and you know who I am, you know how hard it is for me to ask for help, but I'm out of options at this point.

This morning, October 22nd, 2025, at 3:50 am, my family and I were woken up to a fire alarm and water flooding into our apartment. This was from the apartment directly above us having a fire and the sprinkler system flooding our entire home. All of us started scrambling to get all of our cats out to safety. Luckily, no one is injured. After the fire department arrived and had the situation under control, they referred to the damage in our apartment as "extreme" and "uninhabitable."

We waited outside for roughly 4 hours until the fire department escorted us through the apartment so we could see the extent of the damage inside. We took as many pictures as possible and grabbed a small amount of valuables. They only gave us about 3-4 minutes in the apartment in total to grab our stuff and get out. We had to get a hotel that cost us over 500 dollars for the next 4 nights and will have to end up staying even longer than that because all of our belongings have water and/or smoke damage. We also will be forced to move into a new apartment and take off an unknown amount of time at work.
