For those of you that don’t know me, I’m Kat, and I’ve had one hell of a year (...and it’s only May XD). Normally I’m a very independent, stubborn, hard-working, financially responsible and stable lady. But my life has been turned upside-down and it’s course has been taken out of my hands.
Last week I collapsed in a seizure at work. It turns out I have a blood clot in my brain, and it resulted in a brain bleed. Now I am unable to work, and have a boatload of medical bills. Being someone who normally has healthy habits, and no known genetic risk factors, I was not prepared for this. And I don't know when life will return to normal.
The cherry on top is the following: I bought a new house this year, well within what I could afford. What I and my inspector didn’t know was that that the former owner left a $10,000 plumbing issue. I’ve only been able to use approximately a gallon of water a day since I moved in in February. Which, as I’m sure you can imagine, complicates taking care of myself while I’m partially disabled. The biggest issues being that I can’t drive myself to a location where I can take care of my hygiene, clean dishes, do laundry, and cook simple meals. (Yes, I’ve been living like I’m camping, but it’s a little more complicated now :p.)
The amount I’m asking for doesn’t even cover everything, but since I’m not 100% disabled, I feel I should still be responsible for a large portion of what I need. Work will pay short-term disability while I recover, but it’s only a percentage of my normal income and won’t even cover my mortgage and other normal bills and living expenses.
Also, I would prefer to do this in such a way that I at least earn a portion of your money. Whether that be through art prints, mini photo sessions, or anything you can think of that’s within my ability (and I’m willing to do, I am NOT a prostitute or criminal lol ). Visit KathleenWilkie.com for contact information. Anyone who donates is entitled to something should they choose to take me up on the offer.
If you ending up here is awkward, I likely don’t have your last name in my phone. Pardon me. Please ignore. Part of my recovery is patching memory loss from the seizures. (The doctors say it’s temporary, so no worries long-term.) But by all means, let’s catch up either way! I’ll have some time on my hands in the coming days.
