Elyse's Fight

Donation protected
Elyse is a mother of 3 small children, a wife, a daughter, a sister, a friend... She was just given some awful news regarding her health.  This has been created to help with medical expenses, childcare, food, anything that she and her family would need the money for.

Elyse's sister, Tara read online that the average out of pocket cost is $2200 for patients who have health insurance, which she does.

Elyse has created a facebook page "Elyse's Journey" for anyone who would like to follow her.  Please consider helping this family out!

This is taken from her Facebook page:
I noticed a lump in my breast one morning in July while getting dressed. The doctor scheduled me for an ultrasound immediately and dismissed it, saying it was either a result of the pregnancy (since Aubriella had been born in April) or a milk duct issue. Either way, they felt it would resolve itself. I went back for a second lump in August, and the doctor said the same thing. I finally went back in November for another ultrasound because my first lump was growing, and they referred me for a biopsy. At that point they still thought it would be a benign fibroid tumor. I went back on Wed 11/25, and was diagnosed with Grade 3 (the most aggressively growing type of tumor) triple negative infiltrative duct carcinoma. The biopsy revealed the tumor to be 20% in situ and 80% invasive (the cancer cells were already out of the tumor). They did a second biopsy on the second lump and found that that lump is also cancerous. Fortunately, my lymph node biopsy came back negative, but they are now going to re-evaluate my lymph nodes by looking at the sentinal node, just to double check. My bilateral MRI revealed my chest wall seems to have been involved, which is what brings me up to Stage 3.

We are preparing to start aggressive chemo within the next week or two, assuming we can get all the tests completed. I've had several so far; I still need to complete a bone scan and CT scan. At this point, I will be doing a round of chemo every 2 weeks, for 4 rounds. After that, I will begin the surgery process. I will continue to get more details on both of those throughout the next week with my various meetings and appointments.

I was frustrated with my unexpected news today with the MRI, but I'm trying to stay positive. I know I will continue to have set backs, but I also anticipate days with good news. I am SO thankful for the support, love and prayers from you all. It will give me the boost I need to keep fighting on the hard days, and the reminder of WHY I'm fighting every day!

Thank you so much for helping Elyse!!
