Luna's Heart

As many of you know, about a year and a half ago my little Luna Tunes was diagnosed with Myxomatous Valvular Degeneration Disease which had already progressed into congestive heart failure. Basically, her heart is enlarged and shredding itself, and her trachea is partially collapsed due to pressure.
Her prognosis at the time was a year at best. My badass little lady has beat those odds and continues to thrive. I'm so grateful for every extra second I'm allowed with her in my life. Unfortunately, though, her ongoing medical care comes at a high cost.
Luna is taking 10 pills a day. This requires constant monitoring and adjustments. She sees a canine cardiologist regularly, and specialist vet appointments are not cheap. Her medications make her quality of life very high still- which is pretty miraculous. She doesn't struggle to breathe and retains her spunky and snuggly personality. She's experienced very few ongoing side effects from them, aside from peeing frequently. Without her medication, though, she will crash very quickly and likely will not see 2023.
On a very personal and vulnerable level- I had a traumatic brain injury this year which significantly impacted me financially for several reasons. I hate having to do this in general- and especially having to include this detail. But it's my reality still, and ultimately Luna's health outweighs my pride.
The amount I set will cover her immediate medical needs and her 90-day supply of prescription refills. I'll be able to cover everything else for her moving forward from there.
I know times are tough and money is limited. Even sending positive energy Luna's way is incredibly appreciated. She's already beaten so many odds- she's a spunky fighter subsisting on love.
I won't be flooding your feeds sharing this- I only plan to post about it once. What I can promise is anything donated to my Luna Tuna the Lil Lunatic will be paid forward and then some. In any way that I can.
