My wife (Emily Olmos), and I (Emmanuel Olmos), have struggled with fertility issues for serveral years now. We are in our last leg of the medical journey. We decided to use IUI (Intrauterine insemination) as our last resort for biological children.
We are uncomfortable with IVF (In Virto Fertilization) as a means for having biological children.
Sadly, our first round of IUI procedures did not work this past October. Emotionally, we are doing as well as a couple can in our situation. It 's always hard at first, but God continues to give us the grace and strength to hit the "reset" button each time medical procedures do not work.
We are planning to do two more rounds of IUI procedures before we close the book on the possibility of having biological children. We have no problem adopting and are actually excited about the prospect of it in our future; however, we both felt IUI procedures were something we had to try. We did not want to look back and wonder if IUI procedures could have worked for us.
Sadly, much of infertility costs are left for the patient to cover and insurance is little to no help in fertility cases.
Infertility was never something we planned to experience and because of that, planning for the costs involved has been difficult during all these years with different fertility specialists.
We do not enjoy asking for money and we know that we cannot promise any results, for only God can claim ultimate authorship for the miracle of creating life. After years of learning the intricacies of pregnancy (from conception to birth), we believe pregnancy is a miracle.
We would like you to be a part of that miracle. We are inviting you to financially invest in our dream of biological parenthood. We are specifically raising money for the costs of fertility drugs ($1000+), ultrasounds tests ($1,000+), and the IUI procedure itself ($800+).
We will use the money raised to the cover the cost of 2 more IUI procedures. We plan on starting our second round of IUI at the beginning of December. Our hope is to get pregnant, but if pregnancy does not happen in our December round we will attempt again in February for our 3rd and last round.
The fertility clinic at UOFM will not charge us for treatment until the end of December, for the second round of IUI. We could really use funds by the end of December in order to pay for the procedure.
Having our own biological children would mean so much to Emily and I. Words fail to express how deeply we long to be parents and to care for children in our own home. Our friends, family, and co-workers can attest to the high quality parenting and love children would receive in our home.
We would be forever grateful for any donations you are willing to provide. As always, prayer is SO important to us! Please continue to pray for our emotional health, to not lose hope in this difficult journey, for this to be our season of pregnancy, and for all our funds to be raised.
