I was discharged from hospital last week after 3 weeks.I had a bacterial infection but after the ERCP it spread to my blood . So I sepsis to deal with.Thankfully I pulled through.I am on 2 extra medications now and I am still recovering.

Thursday September 17th 2026

I was admitted to hospital on tuesday sept 15th for scans to determine why my bloods have been steadily getting worse.I had a ct scan yesterday and will know the results today.An MRI is scheduled for 8am tomorrow morning.

It is looking most likely that I have blocked bile ducts for which an ERCP will be set up for someday next week depending on the CT and MRI scan results.

Is there ever going to be an end to this ?

August 14th

My bloods are bad and steadily getting worse.Everything is pointing towards blocked bile ducts.One last throw of the dice is another change in medication but I think I will be admitted to hospital in the next 2 weeks for tests and most likely ERCP to clear the ducts.I hope I am wrong

June 29th

On wednesday june 24th I had my dermatology appointment and the tablets I was taking for my skin were stopped ( Neotigason ) because my liver bloods were way off.She also prescribed liver tablets ( Heparegen ) . But for the past few days I was very weak and sleeping a lot while taking them.

Today I had my hepatology appointment and even though I was taking heparegen my bloods were even worse than last week.My hepatologist stoped the heparegen and changed my meds to try address this and told me she wants to see me in 10 days time on july 9th.If my bloods are still off I will be hospitalized for tests.

I recently sent a photo of a new spot on my leg to my dermatologist, and she confirmed it’s another pre-cancerous area.

​I've been managing these spots for years, so it's back to a familiar routine. I'll be treating it with Efudix cream until my appointment on June 24th.

Hi everyone, I wanted to give you all an honest update on where things stand.

​It has been a grueling road—8 years of fighting skin cancer and now several months since my life-saving liver transplant in October 2024. While I am so grateful to be here, the 'finish line' is still a long way off.

​Right now, my daily life revolves around a heavy regimen of medications to ensure my body doesn't reject my new liver. At the same time, we are still aggressively fighting the skin cancer. I am currently using multiple specialized medicated creams, including one that is a topical chemotherapy.

​Using chemo in a cream form is exhausting and painful, but it's a necessary part of the battle to keep the cancer from spreading further. Between the transplant recovery and these ongoing treatments, the medical costs for prescriptions and specialized care continue to mount.

I had another growth removed from the left side of my face in the exact same place as the one I had removed in november 24th.

2 more growths removed from my upper right leg.

September 21st

My skin cancer problem continues with new growths forming.In the past 3 months I have had a further 5 procedures to have growths removed.This is more than 60 surgeries to date.The stress and worry about this along with the problem I have paying for medication for both skin cancer and the post liver transplant medication is unbareable.

A few weeks ago at my dermathologist checkup she noticed that a growth was starting again in the same area of my face where I had a pretty big surgery 3 years ago.I am using EFUDIX cream in the hope that it will clear it.But we wont know if it will work for at least 2 months.Fingers crossed

February 2nd

It has been 3.5 months since my transplant and still I am not eating right.And I cannot gain the 20kg I lost during my transplant.I am still very weak.

After more than 50 surgeries to have cancerous growths removed , I thought I had beaten this but a new one must be cut of today.Hopefully it is jus one and the future wont start to be like the past.

Feeling on but my biggest problem is my apetite.Put it this way.Yesterday I ate 1 slice of bead and butter

.Since the transplant I have lost 16kg.

If I dont eat , I cant build up my muscles to be able to do some excersizes and walk again.

Liver transplant was today.

But all did not go well . I developed Pnueminia and had to be put into an enduced come because of my lungs.

I am now on the liver transplant list.I still have a lot of keratosis growths which can turn into Melanomas after transplant.But I had no other option.My liver is at END STAGE.

I have been admitted to hospital for a minimum 2 week stay.My liver is really low and my bloods are terrible.

They are trying to find a mix of medication that will make my liver last until the skin cancer is completely cleared.Then and only then can I get onto the transplant list.

Also while I am in hospital they will perform all the neccessary tests for qualification for the transplant list.These include ENDOSCOPY , LYMPH NODE CHECK , CT SCAN's , MRI's , ECG , EKG , ULTRASOUND.

Lets hope I make it ☘️❤️

July 1st

The reason I have this GOFUNDME is I am on Irish state invalidity pension for myself and my wife.We have no other income.

From this we must pay apartment rent and bills.

Lots of travelling to various hospitals each week .The closest being 120kms away The furthest being 400kms away.

And most weeks we must do the 120km ( 240kms roundtrip ) twice per week.

None of the expensive medication for my liver ( which is at END STAGE ) are covered by the Polish health system which I am governed by.

June 18th

For the past few months my ammonium is dangerously high.And my albumin is very low.For the ammonium I am taking maximum dose of Hepa Mertz.This is in sachets and is very expensive.And it is , like most expensive medication not covered by the Polish health system so I must pay full price for a lot of my medication.This is not easy on state pension from Ireland.

May 13th.

After using Efudix chemo cream on my forehead for 2 weeks it seems to be working but its very sore.The cream is very expensive and the tube is only 20g and I need a minimum of 4 tubes per month.And it must be done in little patches starting with my forehead.Each section will take 1 month.

April 25th update.

Yesterday I went to see the skin specialist in Gdansk to see if I could qualify for the Liver transplant list.

The Doctor said even though most of the skin cancer was cleared , I still had a lot ( thousands ) of Keratosis which can turn cancerous.She performed lots of cryotherspy all over my body.In fact she had to get a second person to help her.

She is confident about clearing all of these but it will take months because it must be done in sections ( starting with my forehead.And one of the creams has chemo in it.Each section will take 1 month.

Then when all of this is cleared there is a possibility that I might get approval to go on the Liver transplant list.

April 6th update.

I got discharged from hospital yesterday.My liver is at an all time low and will not last much longer.My only hope is I must visit the top skin specialist in Poland , based in Gdansk.She needs to see my skin and make a decicision on wheather I can get on the transplant list or not.Please pray for a positive outcome for me .

Latest upate.I m in hospital.again.Stones in Bile ducts and also an infection.

Hi , My name is Billy.I was diagnozed with liver cirrhosis caused by autoimmune hepititis in 2012.One of the medications ( Azathioprine ) I was taking has caused widespread skin cancer all over my body.So far I have had more than 50 surgeries to have basil cell growths removed.I was accepted on a special program 2 years ago.The treatment is Libtayo and I recieve it intraveniously every 3 weeks.It is working but at the cost of my liver.I had to increase medications including new ones.The expense of these is very high.Please help me fight both these ilnesses
