Hiya luvlies
I recently had my consultation for FFS and the total cost will be £25,000. I’m aiming to raise £10,000 myself but I absolutely don’t believe I can raise it all myself so after much consideration am asking for help on GoFundMe.
I have had my first appointment withthe GIC with the aims of getting safe prescriptions on the NHS but it was such a long wait I have begun HRT and although it is vastly improving my day to day livelihood, including improving being more comfortable within myself, but every time I look in the mirror I have to look at the face of someone I don’t recognise within myself at all.
This has created not only a daily disassociation technique to get through each day. Whenever I go out in public I live my truth as the woman I am.
However, I get countless observations of overhearing “that lady looks funny” or “why is that man like that”, just being misgendered constantly makes it harder to maintain the disassociation technique. By getting the FFS I know it will improve my daily livelihood by how I appear on the outside being closer to how I know I feel on the inside.
I realise £15,000 is a lot to ask for, but I am continually raising funds myself by siphoning off bits of money from my full-time job, in addition to adding any profit from the 2 monthly parties I put on and any jobs I get from hosting ans DJing. This is not my only pot to fundraise, but any extra help I can get I need to take right now. Being able to get these surgeries will be the first step I need to take in bringing me closer to living my life with relative contentedness.
