Bruce Savelkoul, my dad, has been living a nightmare the last few months. If losing his son in May unexpectedly wasn’t bad enough, he was diagnosed with Stage 3 pancreatic cancer supposedly spreading to his liver and lymph nodes at the end of October. Trinity transferred him to Bismarck as they weren’t able to place a stent in his liver. He’s done 2 rounds of chemotherapy, but the side effects have been very severe, so the 3rd round had to be held. We are also starting an alternative treatment that isn't covered by insurance but has worked wonders in other countries. None of this is cheap, and insurance doesn’t cover it all. Expenses add up fast from weekly trips to Bismarck, some overnights, increased prescriptions, and on and on. Dad hasn’t been able to attend all the gun shows he usually does either, so he isn’t bringing any money in. Money has always been a stressor for Dad, and I don’t want that to worry him or keep him from doing any treatments.
