Walk it off

I’m Walking Over 1,400 Miles For Every Man Who’s Ever Felt Lost
My name is Alex. Next year, I’ll be walking over 1,400 miles from Northampton to Alife, Italy to raise awareness for Men's mental health.

This journey is in memory of my close friend Callum Joshua Grant AKA CJ. He was someone kind, loved, and full of light, who we lost too soon. Like so many men, he struggled in silence. This walk is how I carry his story forward. Step by step. For him. For anyone who’s ever felt like there’s no way out. For every person grieving someone they wish was still here.

A few months ago, I sat with someone who told me how walking saved his life. He said:
“I felt lost, and going for walks helped me through the process.”

That stuck with me. Growing up, I learned to "walk it off" instead of talk it out. It was the only way we knew how to cope. Now I’m walking not away from grief, but through it.
To honour my friend.
To honour the men still struggling.
To show that even in the quiet, there’s healing.

I won’t be walking alone. I’ll be joined by my good friend and fellow artist, Denholm. Together, we’ll document the entire journey through photography and vlogs, capturing the landscapes, the people we meet, and the honest, in-between moments.

At the end of this journey, we’ll create a photobook part tribute, part testimony for anyone who’s ever felt lost. All profits from the book and any remaining donations will go to The Man Cave, a charity creating safe spaces for men to talk, connect, and heal.

How You Can Help
Your support will help us cover:

  • Basic supplies and equipment to keep us going

  • Somewhere to rest our heads once a week – If you live along our route and can offer us a place to stay for a night, even just a floor and a cup of tea, it would mean the world to us.

Any remaining funds will be donated to The Man Cave, supporting men struggling with depression and suicidal thoughts.

Why The Man Cave Matters
We’ve chosen to support The Man Cave, a men’s mental health charity doing vital work to break the stigma around male vulnerability.

The Man Cave provides safe, welcoming spaces where men can catch up and open up no judgment, just honest conversation. They run weekly group sessions that offer community, connection, and a place to talk about the things we’re often told to bottle up.

Whether it’s grief, anxiety, depression, or simply the stress of everyday life, The Man Cave is there to remind men they’re not alone. For many, it’s a lifeline a space where they feel seen, supported, and able to speak freely.

In a world where too many men suffer in silence, The Man Cave is helping change that. That’s why any remaining donations from this walk will go directly to supporting their mission.

By supporting our journey, you’re also helping them continue theirs.

We’re incredibly grateful to be partnering with Front Photography, who have kindly offered us a platform to share and sell photographs taken along the journey.

Support Through Art With Front Photography
Throughout the 1,400 miles, Denholm and I will be capturing the landscapes, quiet moments, and human connections we encounter. These images will be available as prints through Front Photography’s platform and 100% of the profits from each print sold will go directly to The Man Cave.

It’s a beautiful way to support the cause:
You get a meaningful, handpicked image delivered straight to your home and your purchase helps fund vital mental health support for men who need it.

Whether it's a misty mountain pass, a quiet roadside in rural France, or a candid moment of stillness, each image will carry part of the story CJ’s story, and the stories of so many others.

Buy a print, support the mission, and carry a piece of the journey with you.
