On November 23, 2022, my house caught fire in the middle of the night. Luckily everyone is safe, and I am working with the insurance company to file a claim.

This GoFundMe is entirely for my tenants that live downstairs. They are a family of 6 Afghan refugees who came to the US last year from Kabul, Afghanistan. Leaving behind everything, they came to America for a better life, and I am devastated that this fire has caused them to start over again — in less than a year. This family is one of the kindest families I have ever met who are so positive even with the obstacles life has thrown in their way. They always offer food when I visit and do their best to keep the house in great condition.

Unfortunately, they do not have renter's insurance, and I am working with my insurance company to see what can be done. Donations will help them find a new home, furniture, and clothes for the winter months until we can get this sorted out.
