Hi there,
This is our brother Bryan McNeil. Bryan is a dedicated father of two, Jacob 10 and Izabelle 6, and a loving husband to Chantal. He prides himself with creating memories with his wife and kids such as hiking, biking, camping. He also volunteers his time to coach his son’s soccer team. He is a skilled and hard-working carpenter with 20+ years of experience. He was our teammate. Working by our sides for the past 15 years.
However, on September 28, 2021, there would be no more camping trips, no more bike rides, no more coaching, no more working for a while. Only a long road to recovery.
On that morning, while working on a construction jobsite with us, Bryan fell. He fell not because of lack of safety measures on his part, but a freak accident which led to an 8ft fall. There was nothing to grab onto, nothing to soften his fall. Bryan fell directly on his back onto a cement foundation. This accident could have happened to any one of us, but Bryan was the unlucky one.
The fall shattered his c5 vertebrae, broke two ribs and suffered multiple fractures to his lower back. Despite the severity of his injuries, which could have left him paraplegic or worse, the function of his arms and legs remains. He went through invasive surgery to remove the fragments of vertebrae situated at the back of his neck. They used bone grafts, metal rods and screws on both sides of the spine to fuse c4 c5 and c6 together. He is now stable living with a brace 24/7 to stabilize his neck. Bryan is required to wear his brace for 3 months, and then the rehabilitation process will begin. As stated above, Bryan has a long road to recovery.
Bryan and Chantal both work diligently to support their family. Unfortunately, in Bryan’s current state, there is little income entering their household. Bryan will be out of work for a long time and Chantal needs to provide support for Bryan at home for a while.
We are asking to please consider helping our brother’s family, help lighten the financial stresses, so Bryan and Chantal can focus on his recovery and the wellbeing of their kids.
We are so thankful that you have taken some time to read Bryan’s story, your concern for our brother and his family is extremely appreciated.
Warm regards,
