Help A Paramedic
Donation protected
Dan who has been a Paramedic for many years with a goal of starting nursing school on September 3rd had his plans put on hold. On August 2nd Dan was riding his bicycle when a car pulled out in front of him. He was transferred to UCDavis were they repaired his shattered right lower leg, he has a cervical fracture which isn't currently causing any neoro deficits, but is very painful. The major trauma he sustained was his cricoid and thyroid cartilage was shattered. He was consciously intubated and later the doctors placed a trach so he could breath and had to rebuild his adams apple with titanium plates. He had to have a nasal gastric tube placed to keep up his nourishment. He spent a couple of days in ICU then was moved to a regular floor. Later he was transported to another hospital where he currently is recovering. Billing recently came to his room where he found out how much he will be owing due to someone else's carelessness. Not only will he be in debt due to hospital bills and missed work, but he is paying physically.
So many times we hope for a time to thank a first responder, supporting Dan in this hard time, is that opportunity. Anything you can donate is very much appreciated and will go to missed pay at work, bills, any medical supplies Dan may need and missed wages for his wife to be able to care for him.
Thank you for the support.
