My name is Jaz, and I’m asking for help for my mom, Joanne (Jojo).

She’s completing rehab after nearly losing her life due to addiction. For the past few years, she’s been living in her car. Homeless, isolated, battling a slew of health issues, and struggling to survive. After fighting her way back from the bottom, she’s determined to rebuild her life.

Next week, she’ll be released from rehab and move into a sober living home. She has multiple job interviews lined up, but she’ll need time to get back on her feet. The sober living home is giving her one month before rent is due. We’re hoping to raise enough to help her cover rent and the basics.

When my mom was hospitalized, I saw firsthand how people experiencing addiction and homelessness are treated. As burdens, not humans. Dismissed, ignored, and written off.

But my mom is so much more.

A mother, grandmother, sister, and survivor who’s worked her entire life to care for others, even when she had nothing herself.

I desperately need my mom. My siblings need her. Her grandsons, Jade (8) and Sage (2), have never had a grandmother in their lives, and my mom is determined to change that.
