Imagine waking up perfectly normal one day, and the next day you are paralyzed. Hi, my name is Katie and I am fundraising for our dog, Penny. If you've ever had a loved one in dire need of emergency medical care, knowing you cannot afford that care, then you know the desperation we are feeling right now. She is a sweet, loving, gentle, playful companion. On Saturday, she was her normal, playful self. By the next morning she began showing signs of distress. Within 24 hours she was completely paralyzed from her waist down, unable to urinate without someone manually releasing her bladder.
