We all have friends we would gladly, willingly, do anything to help in times of hardship.  I write this for such a friend.  It is gut-wrenching, as it feels like I should be able to do more.  This is something I can do, though. 
      Scott has been a nurse here at Carlisle for many years.  It is hard to imagine there is clinical staff who have not worked with Scott in one way or another.  Scott is one of the few people I have met that will actually go out of his way to help you if you are in need.  I guarantee that he has done something unasked for you or your patient.
      Scott is going through a time that cannot be fathomed.  He has unexpectedly, suddenly, lost his wife.  His children have lost their mother. 
      It is impossible to know all the different ways their lives will be affected, what awaits them as they look to move forward.  There is little, ultimately, that I can do to ease any burden of his.  I can reach out to all of you, his friends, acquaintances, and work-family, to ask to make a donation.  Support comes in many forms.  This is one that will surely be needed in the times ahead.
      I am not sure I will ever feel like I've done something to truly help him at this time in his life.  I can only try.
