Hi, my name is Taila, and I’m 21 years old. My younger brother is 17 and still in high school. Recently, we lost our mom unexpectedly, and our world has completely changed.

She was everything to us, our support, our home, the one who held everything together. Right now, it’s just the two of us trying to navigate this loss and everything that comes with it.

Along with the emotional weight of losing her, we are now responsible for things we never imagined having to handle so soon, the funeral expenses, bills, and the cost of keeping a roof over our heads. It has been overwhelming trying to process our grief while also figuring out how to move forward.

My brother still has a year and a half left of high school, and my biggest priority is making sure he can continue his education and have some sense of stability despite everything that has happened.

We are doing everything we can to stay strong and take things one step at a time, but we truly cannot do this alone.
