Hi, im Fe, I am a mama to 2 girls and 2 cats.
My first furbaby was Loki, a ginger male tabby who came into my life 13 years ago and who has never left my heart. He has been by my side throughout everything - the multiple flat/house moves, remembering when it was just us in a 1 bedroom flat in Restalrig, the first time i had lived alone. One night i was so scared, he climbed under the covers and slept beside me all night (and this continues to this day)
When my first child was born, Talia, he sat by her crib and watched over her proudly. When I brought home another orange kitty called Hollie, even though she was annoyed the hell out of him, he soon became like a big brother to her, eventually letting her share his bed (and food!) and they still have a love/hate relationship now (secretly love each other)
Finally to our house in wallyford and another child born called Erin, who he again watches protectively over, despite her always trying to chase after him! He always let's her...
The point is, he has always been there for us and now in his time of need, we have to be there for him. And im asking for help.
Loki has recently been diagnosed with lymphoma - a bout of not eating and losing weight and a mis-diagnosis of anxiety, a mass was found last week, biopsied and the worst news ever given.
The mass is medium to large and we have been told it has spread to several lymph nodes.
The treatment is chemotherapy, over the course of the next few months, with rescans to see how he is responding.
It costs alot of money. I want to try everything I can to be able to help him. He has helped me and been my rock throughout the last 13 years. I owe him to help with his fight.
In support of Loki's cause and treatment, I will be doing a walk from my home in Wallyford to a charity important to my heart - The Edinburgh Cat & Dog Home - whom I give to every month and will be leaving a portion of the funds to help other animals in need. The walk will be 15 miles there and back.
Please donate what you can, even £1 helps. He is the sweetest, kindest boy you could ever meet and everyone who does, instantly loves him.
He means so much to our family and we are all so devastated at the news and want to do everything we can to have him in our lives for much longer.
Thank you so much for reading our story, please share where you can.
Fe and Loki x
