Dad's 3rd heart attack - Need help

Donation protected
UPDATE 12/07/17: My dad is a disabled, RETIRED ARMY VETERAN, who very proudly served our country for 10 years. So I must admit that it's absolutely heartbreaking, disappointing and unreasonable that he isn't getting the medical attention or help from the V.A. that he, and every other military veteran should be entitled to and deserves. As of today, the "life alert" bracelet that they promised he'd receive by December 2nd has NOT arrived. Neither has the walker that he was promised at the same time. We have received no additional information regarding the possible schedule for the surgery he requires and he keeps getting the run around any time he calls for more information. I want to thank everyone who has been able to help out and please, share as often as possible. The upcoming expenses for transport and his surgery are scaring me to death and we need all the help we can get to get through this. I'll post an update once I get any information. Thanks again! UPDATE 11/30/17: Dad has been diagnosed with congenital heart failure which will require surgery. Unfortunately, he's too high risk for conventional open heart surgery. The operation he needs is new, experimental and extremely expensive. There are only 2 hospitals in the state that have the necessary equipment and team of physicians required for this procedure. It looks like we may have to transport him to Gainesville because it's a V.A. facility. The other hospital is UM but because of how expensive this surgery is, it won't be covered by the V.A. at another facility. Today, they performed the exploratory and mapping procedures needed for the surgery, but there's a minimum wait time of 10-14 days, and could be as long as a month before he can be scheduled for the operation. So the hospital discharged him today despite my very, very adamant protests and hours of arguing. Their argument is that he's currently stable and they can't keep him admitted while they wait for availability. What a joke... I advised them that if he's sent home, he'll be home alone for at least 10 hours a day because we  just don't have anyone that can stay with him during the day. The hospital's solution is a life alert bracelet which "should" be delivered Saturday. Not reassuring, but at this point we really don't have any other options. I should have more information soon and will update again when we know more. I'm trying my best to find people I can pay to stay with him during the day as much as possible, but all these expenses are bleeding us dry with no real end in sight. I witnessed what he went through during his last heart attack and I know with 100% certainty that if it happens again while he's alone, he's going to have an impossible time calling for rescue by himself... Truthfully, I'm terrified... Thank you for taking the time to read this and any help anyone can offer is appreciated more than words can express! ORIGINAL STORY: It's been a tough year. My dad suffered his 3rd heart attack on Sunday, Nov 19th and is currently admitted to the PCU for severe stenosis of a ventricular artery. For anyone that doesn't know, he suffered a heart attack last month on 10/19. On 8/13 he was admitted for chest pains and severe shortness of breath but they didn't find anything conclusive. He suffered his first heart attack in the beginning of 2016. Unfortunately, all of the costs involved with his care and treatment are really starting to pile up. We've been budgeting and cutting expenses and have been extremely frugal. I thought we'd be able to catch up after his heart attack in October. Of course, life always throws us obstacles and this latest attack and hospitalization has definitely set us back horribly. With Christmas around the corner, and the costs that keep coming in, it's going to be beyond what we can handle financially. I don't like to ask for help. But this entire ordeal is forcing me to reach out to anyone that can help in any way. Dad will be in the hospital for what sounds like another week but that hasn't been confirmed. If you can share and/or donate help at all we'd truly appreciate it. Thank you
