Hi, my name is Gina and im fundraising for my sister and families dog, Rocky. Rocky became sick on Friday with what seemed like gagging/coughing. we originally thought something was stuck in his throat so we let it play out for a day. He appeared to become weak and lethargic over the next couple days so I took him into an urgent care. They did labs, vitals, and an X-ray. The X-ray showed fluid in his lungs to which the doctor thought was either a pneumonia or heart tumor. She prescribed antibiotics and said he should be feeling better within 3-5 days. After being on antibiotics for 2.5 days, he became worse. Wouldn’t eat, could barely walk, had trouble breathing, and very lethargic. I took him to the animal emergency clinic where he stayed over night. The bill racked up very quickly as they did labs, medicine, the hospitalization, preparing for anesthesia, etc. we had to come up with 3,600 on the spot yesterday. Today he will be getting a CT scan to determine if it’s a lung torsion or cancer. He will need surgery if it’s a lung torsion and will not survive without it.
