Support for the McConnell Family

Hi, our names are Al and Jaime Garneau and we are fundraising for Al's youngest daughter Danielle and her family.

On Oct 22 Danielle's husband Alex, started having stomach issues which led to emergency surgeries, lots of pain and complications and no answers to what was wrong. At this same time Danielle then had to leave work Dec 22 due to pregnancy complications.

While they were 8 months pregnant with their second son, Alex received a stage 4 cancer diagnosis, only 2 weeks away from induction time. The doctor agreed to wait until the baby was few weeks old before Alex would start 12 rounds of chemotherapy.

Alex started to feel amazing, but after more tests and scans the prognosis was that the cancer is "incurable" and he will need further chemotherapy in the future.

Danielle went back to work when the baby was 5 months old and Alex was undergoing chemotherapy, trying to get enough hours for EI come the end of the school year.

Alex is 37 years old and will begin chemotherapy again next week. Their amazing sons are only 10 months and 5.5 years old. They have been unbelievably positive and optimistic as they can during this past year, taking all news a day at a time and prioritizing time together as a family. They are trying every natural remedy out there while also working closely with their doctor.

Our wish is for them to enjoy time together now as a family, without finances dictating Danielle go back to work as they navigate this unknown future, as essentially he will be on chemo for the rest of his life.
